My hybrid version of two of the most prolific WWII propaganda posters, in my opinion. I painted this in my Uncle Sam phase many months ago and thought it was time to share.
I’ve always been drawn to the WWII propaganda posters, and the visual impact they create. One image in particular is the Uncle Sam, I want you! poster. This powerful image makes you want to serve and protect your country.
Another image which is still relevant today are the gas masks related to the dangers of chemical warfare. Utilized in WWII US War Bonds campaign’s as well as Shepard Fairey’s New World Odor work, this is a dark visual reminder of the evil of man.
